Why Shopify
Shopify solved the parts of commerce that are expensive to get wrong: payments, checkout, tax, fraud, uptime on the day your campaign lands.
What it deliberately leaves open is the part specific to your business, and that is where the interesting engineering is. We specialise rather than generalise because the platform rewards depth. Knowing where Functions end and an app begins, or when headless costs more than it returns, only comes from working on the same platform every day.
How we work
Five principles, applied to every engagement.

The constraint is rarely the brief
Teams arrive asking for a redesign when the problem is a catalogue model, or for Plus when the problem is four apps writing to the same order. We find the real constraint first, and say so even when it makes the project smaller.
- 02
Decisions belong in writing
Store topology, data model, integration boundaries. Each gets a short record with the options considered and the trade-off accepted, so the next engineer inherits reasoning rather than archaeology.

Build on the platform, not beside it
Pricing rules belong in Functions, not a spreadsheet. Content belongs in metaobjects, not a theme setting. Work that fights the platform costs more every year it survives.

Performance is a feature with a budget
Every deploy runs against a Core Web Vitals budget. A change that costs speed has to justify it commercially, in the pull request, before it ships.

Leave the team more capable
Documented section schemas, a runbook per integration, a walkthrough at handover. Success is your team needing us for new capability rather than for maintenance.
