The problem
Wholesale ran on emailed price lists and manual order entry. Retail and wholesale kept separate catalogues that drifted every season, and reps could not quote without checking stock by phone.
The system
Company accounts and locations modelled from the real account structure, with catalogues and price lists per buyer. Contract pricing runs as a Shopify Function so it applies identically in checkout and in quotes, and the ERP is the source of truth for stock.
The implementation
- 01Mapped existing accounts onto Shopify companies and locations
- 02Built buyer-specific catalogues and price lists from the ERP
- 03Implemented contract and volume pricing as Shopify Functions
- 04Configured payment terms and net invoicing
- 05Built a bidirectional ERP sync with reconciliation and alerting
The result
- Catalogues maintained
- Two to one
- Manual order entry
- Removed
- Pricing source of truth
- One system
Key learnings
- 01Model companies from the real account structure, not the CRM export
- 02Contract pricing as a Function keeps quotes and checkout identical
- 03Reconciliation alerts matter more than sync speed
